Summary of Job
The Engineering Intern will assist in continuous improvement initiatives with a primary focus on optimizing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training materials. This role serves as a transitional phase from project engineering to training, ensuring that SOPs, knowledge, and training materials are created and updated in a timely manner. The intern will work closely with project engineers and the training department to document processes and develop effective training programs.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and optimization of SOPs and training materials.
- Collaborate with project engineers to document processes and procedures.
- Ensure training materials are up-to-date and reflect current best practices.
- Work with the Continuous Improvement Manager to identify areas for process improvement.
- Support the creation and implementation of training programs for new and existing employees.
- Maintain training records and ensure they are audit ready.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
- Provide support in the development of new technologies and tools for training.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
- Assist in the coordination and scheduling of training sessions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Eager to learn and apply new concepts.
