About Us
Your Support Service is an approved service provider of Maryland Department of Health, Behavioral Health Administration. Our program services include community based mental health services to individuals in Prince George’s County, Maryland and the surrounding counties.
The agency provides psychiatric rehabilitation and mental health vocational services to adults, who are afflicted by mental health difficulties and are in need of supportive services. The intent of the services is to assist individuals in the development and monitoring of their individual strengths, interests, needs, and goals pertaining to rehabilitation and transition into independence. We aim to assist individuals in becoming active and productive members of their communities by maximizing their potential through the establishment of independence via education, support, career, and advocacy practices. This position is located in Bowie, MD.
Position Description
Interns will provide project management assistance and support to the YSS team. This may consist of providing administrative support related to training, research into programs, assisting with program outreach, data organization, running reports, creating marketing campaigns and preparing webinars. This position can be used to satisfy academic internship requirements contingent upon institutional requirements.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate students in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or related behavioral science/social services/human services field preferred but not required
- Strong oral and writing communication skills
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite or the equivalent (word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software)
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
