The Construction Industry Education Foundation (CIEF) exists to recruit, educate, and inspire the design, construction, and trade professionals of tomorrow. CIEF has been rapidly expanding our programming to address the growing labor shortage within our industry with a presence in multiple states.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support our Southern California Chapter Design Build Competition® Program and Events. This part time intern offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in office administration, event operations, and the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, eager to learn, and capable of handling a variety of tasks with professionalism and accuracy. (Short-Term Position through 6.1.25)
Key Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support: Assist with daily office operations, including sponsorship invoicing, logo management, and maintaining tracking systems.
- Data Entry: Input and update information in databases and spreadsheets, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Document Preparation: Assist in drafting, proofreading, and formatting documents, reports, and presentations.
- Event Coordination: Support the administrative lead up, planning, and execution of Fall Trades Days events, fundraisers, and mixers.
Qualifications:
- Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business Administration, Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic office equipment.
- Work Ethic: Professional demeanor, reliability, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take initiative when needed.

This is a part-time, short-term position. Compensation is anticipated to be $16.00 per hour. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license, a reliable vehicle, and provide proof of auto insurance.
