Job Description
The Climate and Health Platforms Intern will support the Platform Team in building a community of funders and impact organisations, expanding outreach and engagement in climate-health thematic areas within the AVPN member network, and conducting research as needed. This role requires a proactive communicator with strong research skills, an adaptable growth mindset, and a commitment to expanding AVPN’s footprint in the climate and health intersection. The intern will report directly to the Manager, Platforms. The internship will span a period of three months and is a paid opportunity, offering hands-on experience in advancing social investment initiatives within a dynamic and impactful organisation.
Responsibilities
Market engagement
Support member mobilization
- identifying opportunities for connections, collaborations, and visibility for member activities.
- Actively engage with market representatives to understand the AVPN climate and health ecosystems.
- Assist in identifying outreach strategies for prospective members or partners in the Asia market and key thematic platforms.
Knowledge Development Assist in running capacity-building programs, including convenings, webinars, workshops, and business clinics conducted
- expert members for the Climate Action and Health Resilience Platform.
- Contribute to other projects under the Climate Action and Health Resilience Platforms as required.
- ResearchConduct secondary research using journal articles, publications, websites, and data analysis.
- Assist in content development and management for the climate-health thematic area.
- Synthesize insights creatively and effectively for different audiences and stakeholder profiles.
Requirements
- A self-starter with a strong passion for and interest in the climate and health sectors.
- Demonstrated experience in both qualitative and quantitative research, particularly in the fields of climate change, health, and social sciences.
- A bachelor’s degree in public health, public administration, or social sciences.
- Exceptional written communication skills and a strong interest in content development.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to produce high-quality deliverables.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- A professional demeanor with the ability to collaborate effectively in team settings, including remote work environments.
- Strong proficiency in IT tools, including MS Office and Excel; familiarity with Canva is preferred.
