Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group, recently voted #1 in the nation as the best large mortgage company to work for by National Mortgage News, is seeking an IT Intern for our Virginia Beach, Virginia office to join our 2025 internship program.
The IT Intern should have a strong desire to learn and expand their knowledge, while having the opportunity to translate their course practicum into real world experience.
What you’ll be doing
- Being exposed to all facets of an IT Department, Networking, Server, Customer Support and Build.
- Learning about computer network types (LAN, WAN).
- Assisting with cloud networking.
- Performing profile transfers.
- Shipping and packaging equipment.
- Decrypting computers.
- Assisting in and eventually working independently in the following tasks:
- Troubleshooting and repairing simple network problems.
- Troubleshooting and repairing Microsoft Windows operating system problems.
- Using Microsoft Active Directory in password resets and group memberships.
- Troubleshooting and repairing common personal computer hardware problems.
- Eradicating malware on personal computers.
- Performing other duties as needed.
What you’ll bring
- Currently enrolled in a form of secondary education (i.e., Trade School, College, Junior College, etc.) pursuing a degree in an IT related field
- Ability to work up to 29 hours per week
- Professionalism and strong communication skills (both in person and via phone/email)
- Ability to work with all levels and varying positions of staff
- Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task
- Be able to have fun and be professional at the same time
- 1+ years of IT or related experience is a plus
